Total Connect 2.0 App Reviews

We got this when we installed our Kenco security system. This app has to be one of the most unfriendly user experiences I have dealt with in a app. It also takes on average about two minutes for it to arm and disarm are system and sometimes it will say it is disarmed when in reality it is not. I really hope they figure away to catch up with the other security companies out there and update this app to something resembling todays technologies.

This app is useless. The whole point of having this app is so you can disarm your alarm before you enter your home or business. I can literally pull out my keys, open my front door and disarm the system on the main keypad faster than I can do with the app. I have XFINITY at another property and everything is in real time, and is easier than using the keypad. With this garbage it just takes forever, then I have doubts the system actually set. I would seriously get rid of this garbage if I didnt have several hundred dollars invested in the main board and expansion boards. I even hooked this garbage to a eithernet connection with 150 meg internet service and its still slow as hell. Seriously, Honeywell makes a great alarm, but their app really needs to be completely over hauled. Its not my equipment, phone or internet. Its all good. Its this dumb app.

The interface is very poor. It often fails to Connect via cell phone. There are times that it takes 20 min for unlocking.

Not the first time Ive been left stranded outside. FIX THIS PROBLEM.

This app is terrible! Its very slow and it drains battery and data. They need an update and a redo to make this app phenomenal! Dont waste your time downloading!

At first the app seemed to be working somewhat fine. Our alarm company rep told us it may work slow the first time until it establishes its connection. Well here I am 2 weeks later trying to arm my security system while away from home and the app keeps telling me it is "arming..." but it never actually arms. I have now tried it at home, on wifi, and on LTE. No luck. That was one of the perks of going with this system was the away from home controls. Very disappointed in this app, back to the old ways of remembering to arm the house before we leave.

This app is a joke...

Just updated the app to work with OS 10. The app used to work really slow at first, now it doesnt work at all. What is the point of having this app if you cant turn on/off your alarm when youre away. Worst app ever!

I hope someone from development actually reviews these UX Metrics because this app is pretty bad (no offense) I know you folks worked hard on this but some drastic improvements are needed. 1. It is incredibly slow: connecting to my alarm or door takes way too long. An average of 90-120 seconds. Sometime as long as 3.5 minutes. 2. Too many "click throughs" to unlock my front door, this option should be on the landing page along with the arm/disarm function for my alarm. Or you should be able to customize your "dashboard" with the 1 touch functionality you want. 3. The door lock/unlock icon does not represent the current state of the door lock. How am I supposed to be assured that my door is locked when the icon itself doesnt represent whether it is actually locked. I know it is SUPPOSED to do this but it is a major defect in the app. 4. Knit picking here but the UI itself is a bit dated and not very intuitive. An upgrade there would be a welcome change.

I agree with other reviewers on this app. It adds value but takes far too long to connect and even after disarming the alarm takes too long to give you the status. Standing near the door you may be able to hear your alarm disarm and be able to go in a good 30 seconds or more before the alarm tells the iPhone that it is disarmed. I have found that it works better if you do it when you are a couple blocks away from your home on the cellular connection. It may be that the app is having trouble deciding whether to connect via cellular or the Wi-Fi that it senses when you are standing outside your door.

Ive upgraded my system at home but not able to use all functions with this version (camera, temp controls, etc.)

If your alarm provider is using Total Connect and you plan to monitor or remotely control your alarm system, youre in for a big disappointment. This app is less than useless. Ive had to call my alarm company directly to disarm the system and turn it back on because the app does nothing.

Next to worthless. Very slow. Keypad feature doesnt work. Doesnt work at all if you have two "partitions" in your system. I have one partition in my office over the garage, and a second partition controlling the house. This app only lets me control only one of these (unless I use the ridiculous virtual keypad discussed shortly), and will not show any events or any sensors that arent in the office (partition 1). More to the point, the app makes nothing easy for you. You must use the virtual keypad, which works only intermittently---sometimes not at all (it silently ignores some, but not all, of your keystrokes, so you cant predict what its going to do. Even when it does work, it works exactly like the standard keypad, forcing you hit multiple keys to do anything. You have to enter your passcode multiple times to bypass a sensor, for example. It shouldnt make you type xxxx*2xxxx2 (13 keystrokes) to arm partition 2, there should be a single button that does that. I dont want a virtual keypad, I want an app that makes it easy to control the alarm, with single buttons that do common operations. Why perpetuate the limitations of a physical-switch-and-two-line-display, when you can provide a decent user interface? This is what happens when hardware companies write software. Its junk. The web interface is equally awful.

Love the idea of the total connect app. Great for forgetting to arm the system or needing to disarm the system. Skybell integration is a great feature and being able to unlock my door remotely. Speed is such a crucial thing when it comes to an alarm system and this well.... just doesnt have the speed. The virtual keypad rarely ever works and sometimes it will not connect to my system at all. Over idea a 5 star rating, performance maybe a 1 or 1.5 maybe.....

Horrible piece of junk. Honeywell...FIX IT PLEASE

Crashes frequently. Loads slowly. You cant delete video clips from the app once you view them, which is necessary because the camera picks up too many unnecessary things (car headlights passing by), cluttering up your feed and auto-deleting important clips that you DO want to save (because it can only save so many clips). Come on, Honeywell. This is ridiculous. Youre supposed to be a military contractor. This is worse than a Fisher-Price toy.

Make the font size bigger in the event log, or allow the user to zoom in or change the font settings. The 2-point font size is ridiculously small and useless

This app needs some serious work. It has always been squirrelly, but today it is taking me 3-4 attempts to set the alarm.

I cant arm my alarm it crashes every time I try to use it. It needs a lot of improvement I will cancel my alarm service just because of this app
