New geofencing doesnt work, slow connection.

The lag time for this app has always been bad, especially compared to the last alarm company we worked with. Ive learned to deal with it (just have to disarm my system a full three minutes before I want to open the door, and dont trust it when it says a connection cant be established) but the new geofencing feature doesnt work. Background location is on, etc. but no notification when Im leaving the fence.
